method

  1. Put the mustard and pepper on a large plate and season with salt. Press the steaks into the mixture and rub it onto the meat. Leave to stand for 5 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, prepare the salad ingredients and mix together the dressing ingredients.
  3. Grill the ciabatta. Once lightly browned, remove from the grill and rub the garlic lightly over the surface. Cut into chunks.
  4. Heat the oil in a frying pan and fry the steaks, for 2 minutes each side, on a high heat. If you like well done steak, turn down the heat and fry for another 2 minutes each side. Remove from the heat and drizzle over the honey. Turn over in the pan to coat both sides with the honey. Remove from the pan and cut into
    thin strips.
  5. Arrange the meal on a sharing platter, or board. Pour over the dressing and any excess juices from the pan or chopping board.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons mustard powder
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground
  • black pepper
  • 3 rump steaks
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons runny honey

Salad

  • 2 little gem lettuces, sliced
  • 200g radishes, thinly sliced
  • 2 large carrots, cut into thin strips, using a peeler
  • 2 tablespoons pine nuts

Dressing

  • 2 tablepoons extra virgin olive oil
  • Juice of a lemon
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 tablespoon freshly chopped basil
  • 1 tablespoon freshly chopped parsley

 

  • 1 large ciabatta, cut in half horizontally
  • 1 clove garlic, peeled, but not chopped
