method

  1. To make the raita, squeeze any excess liquid from the grated cucumber and mix the ingredients together. Leave to one side until needed.
  2. Heat a little oil in a large saucepan or wok.  Add the onions and fry until they begin to soften.
  3. Add the mince and fry until no longer pink.
  4. Add the rest of the ingredients. Bring to the boil and then simmer for 30 minutes.
  5. Serve with naan bread, mango chutney and the raita

Ingredients

Raita

  • 250g pot of natural yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon freshly chopped mint
  • 1/4 cucumber, grated
  • salt and pepper

The Rest

  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 2 onions, sliced
  • 500g minced beef
  • 1 mug water
  • 1 tablespoon concentrated beef stock or 1 cube
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 tablespoon rogan josh curry paste
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 tablespoons tomato purée
  • mango chutney
  • naan bread
